The divorce proceedings started to get into full swing as P. Frank gathered evidence concerning Sophie’s misconduct to be used in his fight to maintain custody of his son. P. Frank wrote, “There came a time when Sophie and her brother came to strong-arm the baby from my home, luckily I was home at that time and prevented successful conclusion of that action.” Towards the end of 1953, at the recommendation of the United States Court of the Allied High Commissioner for Germany, Danny was sent to the States as a precaution against another attempt by Sophie to take her son to Paris.
